Standing Tall: A Daughter’s Gift review

Standing Tall: A Daughter's GiftStanding Tall: A Daughter’s Gift by Jacqui Tam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You know, I was actually beginning to wonder about these “true story” books I’ve been reviewing. It’s been hard to find the diamond in the rough as they say, but I finally did.

This is, by a considerable margin, one of the greatest books I’ve ever read. Standing Tall: A Daughters Gift, Written by Jacqui Tam, conveys her memories of her father and his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. It is both inspirational and honest, compelling and true, uplifting and heart wrenching. I have never felt such a wide range of emotions while reading one book, and openly wept several times while reading.

I’m uncomfortable reviewing it in great detail due to the nature of the subject matter. It is a must read for anyone who has been touched by Alzheimer’s disease or anyone who is in dire straights and needs to be reminded of the amazing nature of the human spirit.

Buy this. If you haven’t read it, you aren’t complete.

5/5.
